I bought a new rod from a fella today and as we met and talked fishin’, I hear he wants to hit the Croix for some muskie action. He had an open seat and was gracious enough to let me have it! He took me down to Briank’s stompin’ grounds and we proceeded to throw for some big toothy critters. I had one follow but no takers…. except an 18″ walleye on a spinner bait, weed bed, 5′ of water! Okay………..? Later, Justin and I headed toward the Kinni area……. nothing but a 15″ walleye on Husky Jerk. Slow to terrible was the overall bite this evening. However, I did discover this one thing…….. if Briank wants to catch some eyes, he should start casting for muskies!
