maybe in the boat this weekend, looks like the temps are going to be warming up.
November 26, 2013 at 11:50 am #1366762I was hoping to find some ice but it looks like I better hold off for a bit. With the weekends temps I’d be better off putting on the speedo and working on my tan.
November 26, 2013 at 12:21 pm #1366777if you give me a call i have a spot with 4 inch as of today and ill be out there tomorrow
November 26, 2013 at 12:41 pm #1366783I’ll stop down and we can discuss, I’m sure I need to buy something anyway…like those special suckers you have.
November 26, 2013 at 2:07 pm #1366805Driving to work from Hudson it looked pretty wide open except for some ice in the corners and along the Dike Road.
November 26, 2013 at 3:21 pm #1366826Hey, I know that spot drove thru Beanies on the way home this afternoon. Wide open jerr
November 26, 2013 at 9:26 pm #1366926well i drove my kid to his grandmothers tonight and i drove the river several times today there is ice going from the stillwater bridge down to bayport i will give it two days and check the thickness
November 27, 2013 at 7:03 am #1366952Skim of ice now (Wed morning) in Hudson and north half of Lake St. Croix. Open water down towards Afton.
November 27, 2013 at 9:16 am #1367012From the bridge construction south by the power plant the water is open. The constructions crews will be going as long as they can break up that ice. It is looking like the earliest ice we have seen for a while. Very early for north of the boomsite to freeze.
EDIT*
I looked out after posting this and saw that the ice spread last night and now it looks like all the water froze up around the construction site. Pretty sure someone has already tested bayport ice by now.November 28, 2013 at 2:44 pm #1367304went out and checked out the ice and there’s a good 4 inches i have people contacting me about going out tomorrow morning i would say its OK but proceed with caution

December 1, 2013 at 11:03 am #1367805Yea… so speaking of some EYE wheres mine still waiting Reports on the is about 5 / 5 1/2 inches of ice out of Bay Port crappies are in about 33 ft of water we were using a purple tungsten jig, with a Lucky crappie minnow. I have a question if any one knows the answer it would be helpful. Is the barge going to be breaking up the ice on the Croix all winter long and how far down will it be breaking up the ice
December 1, 2013 at 12:53 pm #1367830Fishing 32 ft Deep, 2 hrs of fishing out on the St.Criox out of Bay port
December 2, 2013 at 10:09 am #1368078from what i have been hearing its been early morn and right be four dark drove down to bay port park and about 5 trucks were there talked to a few just coming off the river and the bite was tough
December 2, 2013 at 10:30 am #136343318 fish in 2 hours yesterday and tough bite today? Sounds like the Croix.
December 2, 2013 at 4:13 pm #1368176so the mn side is ok for foot travel, but midway across to the wi shore still isnt proven? just want to make sure before I head out alone.
December 3, 2013 at 5:39 am #1368260the croix is such a weird bite one day there on and you can slay em and the next i am poplin holes working hard, as for the ice it was safe be for this rain / snow storm hit there was a perm-init shack brought across the river and they were saying it just looked pretty hairy just cross with caution.. i cant vouch on how the ice conditions are now until i go down there later this morning when it gets a little lighter out but temps are gonna drop drastically hat should stir some things up

Some things never change.December 4, 2013 at 10:48 pm #1368778MNDOT reported that they broke the ice up pushing barges to st paul today. May not be able to get to WI side for a day or so but this cold will refreeze that up. Anyone out when the barge went through?
December 5, 2013 at 6:53 am #1368795I was on the ice last night when the tug went by, heading north past bayport to the bridge construction. Hope no one dies out there this year, boneheads.
December 5, 2013 at 8:06 am #1368822That’s too bad. I wonder if they’ll use it as an excuse to shut down the Anderson Road?
