The water temperature is dropping, it was 60.2 today down fro 63.5 on Sunday. I have been trolling lead line in 16 to 28 feet and the bigger walleyes are starting to show up. With the cool weather forecast it will only get better.

Crossin Eyes and I hit it before work today. Slow go. Ended up with dinner though. 1 sauger, 1 saugeye and 1 19″ eye. All on minnows. 23 feet seemed to be the magic number.
Caught some small saugs, a few silvers and a couple dreaded baby cats.

Jeez Jerry, you gotta start spouting off about the secret trough???

No, we didn’t. I tried it last Saturday and didn’t get any fish there, so we didn’t stop there. That’s not to say I’m not going to hit it again this weekend!

Things were pretty slow today, prescott area had a 1/2 dozen boats working it. I did not see anything caught while there. Sorry, try pulling lead core if you have it good luck.

Fished the Prescott area today from 8:00AM to 12:30PM today. Caught several Walleyes from 14 to 18″ and about a dozen Saugers up to 16″. Caught over 20 white bass with the largest at 17″. Fun day on the water. All fish were caught on crank baits running around 2MPH.

That white bass was a beast! Didn’t take long once the walleyes kicked it into high gear. Great time as always Dale!

Got a chance to fish a few days this weekend. Walleyes and sauger are biting on a variety of presentations. Jiging meat and trolling cranks worked for me, however, the overall size of the fish was a little disapointing.

The walleye bite has been very hot for me the last week around the full moon. Been on the water anytime from 2am to 4:30am. Fish were caught just as soon as I get to my favorite haunts just south of the construcion area all the way down to Hudson.

Before sun up I’ve been doing well with BFishin plastics and cranks. After sun up; crawlers on slow retrieve has been the ticket for me. Had some 20-30 walleye days out there. With most in the 16-18 inch class. Only keeping a few for dinner.

Slowed down some now that the full moon has past.

What I’ve noticed is a lot of time when fish are taking the plastics; they’re not actually inhaling the bait in their mouth. They are trying to pin it down on the bottom or stun it. I’ve had to set the hook pretty hard to get this kind of bite.
