I am heading out tomorrow and going to be fishing between prescott and kinnikinick. I will be mainly fishing for walleyes or what ever is biting.

Try the flats and breaks just outside the no wake zone in Prescott. I’ve been hearing good reports form that area. There were 4 boats fishing the flats (in front of the beach) tonight when I drove by…but then again…it’s the weekend.

I would also try the riprap rocks on the MN side north of the beach…with a lindy rig and worm or fat head as shallow as you can get 5…6 feet of water.

Good luck and let us know!

    fyi…
in front of the docks (prescott) on Friday was like going to the grocery store!!! Crawler and hook. Simple is sometimes best. All were walleyes and all were 16 to 17″.

Bradi, sounds like friday was the day. The cold front that came through friday night must have shut them off. Nobody I heard from did very well saturday. Nice to know some fish are still there and somebody was catching them. I suppose the waters going to start dropping this week and they will be somewhere else. Thats fishing I guess.

Man, guys. I love fishing in the SCR at Prescott, but I hate all the ramp rage at that one drop-in downriver from downtown. One of these days, I’m gonna smack one of them Chriscraft weasles with the underage trophy girlfriend!

Anyone else know of any other boat ramps within 2 miles of Prescott?

Was thinking of using that one below the Hastings, MN, dam and just boating over to the junction, then upstream.

    Thanks!

Hubs landing is under used. I don’t know the cost, but it’s out of the way and you seldom have to wait.
Access by road is on the North side of the bridge as you go into Hastings.

Bluffs Regional Park. Best landing on the river. $25 bucks or so for a whole year.

I’ve had enough as well…even though I live in Hastings, I’ve always used Prescott. After a tought time, I used Hastings last week.
I’ll never go back to the P city launch!!

I also use Bluff’s park (Control Data for the old timers), it’s great…but a little far north for my boat.

I have started going to the Hastings Marinia. Yeah, it costs $10, but there’s hardly ever anyone there, and it’s back in a harbor so you don’t have to worry about the current.

Is the $10 a daily fee or a annual fee ?

It’s $10.00/day, or a seasonal pass for $100.00. I usually go very early and pay when I come in, and a few times he has waved away the $10. Like I said before, it’s a great launch, level, with a dock and out of the current. Well worth the $10, especially when I go by myself.
