Huh, I always thought it was the first of September too. So it changes or could change every year?

Some years MN and WI differ on the dates. I’m kinda glad it isn’t this weekend. I’m sick of fighting the holiday boat traffic.

Whoa Whoa Whoa…Does wisc start this weekend? I knew MN was the 7th, which typically it is memorial weekend. I do have a wisc license too so if they’re open on the WI side i’ll be sure to get over there. If not, i just might drown some worms for catfish
I was out there the entire memorial weekend last year. It was just as hot as it is supposed to be this weekend. Boat traffic is crazy, but if you anchor correctly it isn’t a big deal. Just requires two anchors and some bungies.

Yeah, launched out of Beanie’s last year on Labor day, and it was nice and peaceful..until 11AM. I have never seen so many boats in one place in my entire life!

Answered my questions, Wisconsin starts same time. 7th.

I would say it is the busiest at Beanies or the 94 bridge. Nothing wrong with fishing and having lots of bikinis to look at.

Thanks for the quick reply’s. We will be north of all the traffic again this weekend. Most likely just north of the copas landing soaking crawlers for suckers and what ever else swims by. The small mouth where going nuts up there last weekend.

Thanks god There are a few places I’ve found IN EC that I can shore fish for them. No boats no traffic.
