Good grief the algee bloom is off the charts, especially between Afton and the Kinni. Really bad this year, actually the worst I have seen.

At least you have been out there to see. With remodeling our house I pretty much put the boat away until this fall. I hate working on the house…will it never end. Good luck out there.

Some very nice looking lawns and farmers fields along the river though!

Curious what your thoughts are on how that affects the fishing? I was out this morning just south of hudson and struggled to find the walleyes. Marked A LOT of fish but I’m guessing there were a lot of carp and “other” fish I was marking. Pull lead in the 18-30 range and scraped two shorts.

You’re right Turk it is pretty bad this year, worst I’ve ever seen. I don’t think it has affected fishing though. Got out yesterday and pulled lead for 4 hours and caught a combination of 17 walleye, sauger and a slab crappie. Most walleye were in the 15-19″ range while all but 2 saugs were under 15″.

    Micah,

You would think it would adversely effect the fishing, but I am hearing decent fishing report for multiple species.

I have avoided the real thick areas, becuase it is just plain gross. I am hoping the winds from today could possibly cleared it out. Last ten days have been light winds.

    Take care,
    Turk
