Casting into flooded shorelines has always been a favorite thing of mine to do. I didn’t find good numbers last night but I did lose a dandy northern while trying to release her. She got out of my control and flat snapped my 20# superline! If anyone finds a #5 firetiger bladed Mepps and squirrel tail dress stuck in the lower lip of a pike, let me know how long she was!

I also found smallies hanging out around wood. Not weeds so much, but around wood.

Ken, they run around an inch and a half.

What would a “no-muskie-chasin’-fool” like you know about a #5 Mepps? Or are you challenged in weights and measures too? “Weight” is not an act of patience. “Measures” is a “broad” spectrum…….. ahem! What “YOU” call an inch and half is in reference to what “YOU” know (or proclaim) to be an inch and a half. Men from my side of the border “know” that a #5, when fully presentded, goes at LEAST 2 inches. Somebody done lied to you! According to the “De-liar”, you must be thinking of a #3, which is shorter and skinnier.

This doesn’t do well for large muskies. However, it might be just fine for a guy that chases cats!

“Da Pup” say, “That was good for a snack! Have any more ankles???”

Shhhhhhhhhh! There are no smallies in the flooded shores around bayport. I didn’t get 2nd place in our club tourney last weekend fishing that area.

Anyone notice the misquitoes biting around the ankles is a little worse this year?

Ken, I would also prefer that you didn’t let the whole world know our little seceret about the sheepies….

What a coincidence… in the Gull Lake MN forum there’s a guy looking for bass info. Seriously. If you’ve got some info I’d bet he’d welcome anything you’d have to share with him. Check it out if you have the time.
