Can’t believe it is April 3 and no posts on the GTG. Well I’ll get it going this year.

Opener on the Croix coincides with the inland opener this year which is May 4th. So in keeping with tradition, the opener GTG will be Thursday, May 2nd.

I thought the Bungalow worked well last year so let’s do that again!! Especially since the Borderline is still closed and Suzuki refuses to pay to park anywhere in Hudson!!!

So, Thursday, May 2nd, The Bungalow in Lakeland. Probably kick off just after work!!

Hope to see you all there!

No we don’t remember them. I’m sure we would have if you would have GAVE US SOME.

Matt, this is a must attend. All the GOOD St. Croix sticks attend. Suzuki shows up too.

For those newer to the site, this is a great way to meet some fellow IDO’ers and Croix hacks. I just looked at my registration date and figured as I registered in ’05, it was most likely ’06 before I attended this GTG. So this will be my 8th GTG. Wow!

I’ve met some great people over the years and now call several of them friends.

So if you’re new to IDO or never been to a GTG, this is a good one to attend! Hope to see a few of the old guard too that really started this thing.

Even if you don’t fish the Croix it’s a very good way to meet some of the Ido Members, put faces to the names and just have a good ol’ time.

My InDepth Outdoors sticker on the back of my truck didn’t make it through the winter. I’m hoping to cash in on another one at the GTG. Hint.. Hint…

See you there. I’m hoping that Suzuki will share his opening day hotspots, as usual

I though the Croix opened a week before Sconnie inland? Why did they change it?

It usually is a week before he inland opener in WI. Per the regulations the Croix opener is the Saturday closest to May 1. Inland waters is the first Saturday in May. Makes sense right?

I like it. That will take some pressure off the river.

    SteveO,

You actually fishing locally this year on May 4th? You still have some of those cranks so you can catch a golden fish?

To reach the Bungalow from the Twin Cities, take I94 East until you are dangerously close to entering WI. Last exit before the bridge, take a left at the bottom of the ramp.

The Bungalow is the only thing going on the right side of the road, just North of I94.

No dude, those sand carp avoid me like the plague. I’m heading to the WI River out of the Dells. At least I can legally target the king of freshwater fish. El Smallmoutho!
Not leaving til Friday tho. See you at Bong-a-low

i’ve always wanted to attend one of these, I work right in lakeland, I get off work at 4 sharp and these GTG usually don’t start till about 6 or so, I just can’t see sitting around for 2 hours some were.
