Factor in the rising water gang for this weekends bite– I believe it will peak on Friday so Saturday should be good fishing…

To guess I would say last weeks spots will continue to produce plus slide up in depth range a few feet to get on those walldads!!

Ventured forth last night (4:30P to 8:30P) and found I had the river practically to myself? Managed 3 little smallies, sheepies and 1 nice 19″ walleye. Caught the walleye on a crawler in about 12′ adjacent to current. I was surprised there was barely anyone else out in the Hudson area.
That will change on the upcoming weekend. That will be the time to go early. Very early.
Question: What time does the smallmouth season open this Saturday?

Thanks Turk. I’m going to hit the Miss tonight for a change of pace but will be on the Croix this weekend. Mornings of course.

    Suzu,

Hey your welcome! Say about two or three weeks ago did you lose a really nice rod and reel in the drink (Kinni north break) only to have it caught by another fisherman? The lucky angler had a Suzu 140 on the back but it didn’t click that it might be you… as you guessed I found the pole and waved (you?) down.. just curious the angler was also out with his wife.

No rods lost here. The last time I dumped a rod was last year in pool 2 and I got it back dragging the bottom with a spoon! Hooked it in the top eyelet. I still can’t believe I got that rod back and continued fishing with it the rest of the evening. By the way I have a Suzuki 115 and an 8. Both gray. Sanbar as a new 140 and a 9. Both white.

Turk-it just won’t stop raining. I wonder when it will crest now? High water usually equals better fishing for me. Sure would be nice to fish for some timber eyes once this year!!!

    Suzuki,

It’ll level out on 5/31 and be 678.79, and no I’m not Karnac, I checked the river level site! ha. Should be an interesting bite — I may have to hit some good shorelines.

With the higher water levels what effect will it have on the walleyes. How shallow with they go? Do you try and target them in the trees or in the traditional spots?

    thanks a bunch
