Anyone fish this lake, what’s the quality of this lake, clarity, fish size, fishing pressure, etc.? Thinking about going over there for a few hours after work this evening. Plan to try my luck for the last day of the season…

I use to fish this lake a lot back in the day. It’s gin clear, and has about a 45 ft max depth. The only down side is that the water is way down compared to what it always use to be, so I’m not sure how it’s affected the weed growth. It use to get hit pretty hard, but we use to pull some pretty nice sized blue gills and crappies out of there, and descent numbers too. I have many fond memories from my early adult years out on that lake

Its definitely hit or miss out there! As with any lake there is good days and not so good. Find the weeds and there will be fish. Getting them to bite on the other hand is another story. Been out the last couple weekends except this one, and saw many lookers on the camera with only a hand full of takers. It sure isn’t what it was say 10 years back, thats for sure. Slabs were not a problem to catch with the right presentation. Word got out and it got fished HARD for a few years and its just beginning to recover. Pike are very few and far between and on the small side, bass are usually eager to hit a fathead under a tip-up. Remember the limit is 10 panfish in St. Croix county. Good luck!

Yes very much so! Its actually sad to see this happening to all the lakes in the area. Lots of spawning habitat lost for all the fish that’s for sure!

Yes the water is low, back to 1975 levels but last time there (fall of 2012) small bass (< 14″) were plentiful, pike were rare, walleye were scarce, and pans were good. Nice launch on northend of lake but it’s shallow so tilt that motor.
