Made it back over to Osceola on saturday morning after spending a little better than a week fishing else where. The first thing I noticed was the water levels being atleast 1.5′ higher than it was on the opener. this is good news.
Plungepool and my self started out trolling a few shallow running cranks that produced 2 legal fish and lost 1 other legal fish.
We also worked over a school of surface feeding white bass and managed to pick off a few small eyes and smallies that where in the same area as them. This was alot of fun and the action was pretty fast paced.
The Osceola streach is looking pretty good with the higher water levels. All looks the same as last year which was not a bad year at all for fishing. Hope I can get back over to this area some time in the next week.
If anyone is interisted in checking out the upper streaches of the croix let me know. Early saturday mornings (sun up or before) until around noon is a usual trip for me. Once and a while during the week I get to sneek over there also.
