Anyone know where I can find some python sized crawlers? I’m talkin about the kind that you need to use two hands in order to wrestle them onto a hook. The ones at the gas station in downtown Hudson are convenient, but on the small side. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you are willing to drive a little ways, Vado’s has great bait, and is probably grading their crawlers this time of year. Otherwise just down the road from them, Trail’s End Pro Bass (where I get my bait from), they get their crawlers from the same wholesaler but don’t do any grading.
One other person that I know of, who by the way has the biggest leeches on the planet (no kidding), is Kenny Cardenas of Cardenas’ Bait 218-835-4718 up in Blackduck Minnesota, I know a couple of pros that have his leeches fed-exed to them. I haven’t been by to see him since the hardwater season but I’m sure he has the goods.

Earl, try the wal-mart in stillwater. I never thought a retail chain could sell such a large quality crawler. Also, consider Waltz’s crawlers – they are good. I think you can get them at Rumpfs marina just north of stillwater.

I get my own out of my back woods at home. With all the rain lately its been great.I just go out at about 11-midnight with a flashlight dimmed with a red cloth. Some nights you can get 4-5 dozen. If you get some good bedding for them they last as long as you need them to and are as big as they get if you weed through a few.

My neighbor goes to Wallmart too…but the parking lot. After a rain I guess he gets enough.
