Thinking about getting out to the river on Friday for the first time this year. How is everything looking out there, how high will the water be, and what are the fish doing?

Water levels are on their way down and should be about normal by Friday pending any rain Thursday obviously. The fish on the other hand I cannot help with that answer. I look forward to hearing others responses as it has been a struggle pulling lead core as well as live bait for my boat the past two weekends. Live bait sheep head all day long….lead core notta

Friday is still high water. Id would say hit the shallows but from what I’m hearing maybe 90 degrees that day so go deeper. Warmer water depletes oxygen so the shallower you go the less, unless a stream outlet or culvert exit.

Thanks guys. I guess I will be tampering my expectations down a bit, and will have to keep it versatile to find some fish.

Should be a really awesome day to be out.

Looks like tough winds all the way through Saturday as well.

Strong south or north winds make it tough out there. I’m heading out

I ended up staying closer to home and fishing pool 2. That wind on Friday was pretty wicked out there, and the fishing was pretty slow too.
