if they open it anytime could somebody put out a post..thanx..i cant take it anymore
people were driving up the WI side monday. not very far from the access, but they were.
The road they call Anderson Road that runs from the MN side of the St Croix to North Hudson Outdraft.
Anderson Window employees (and many others) use this as a shortcut in the winter months.
I’m guessing they are waiting to see if anyone breaks through before opening the road that barricaded off right now.
It’s a little odd as I’ve never heard of then closing the access to “the road” before.
There was a good 12 inches out there yesterday and is pretty much glare ice. Should take the cold pretty good. Once they see 14-16 it should open up. I would expect to see traffic out there this weekend but I wont put my truck on it for a bit yet. Better safe than sorry!
i can pull my shack with a wheeler but i need that access(mn side ) to open to be able to get on..ill check it out today..probably call the city of bayport as well and raise some you know what..thanx for the info

You can pull the shack right onto the ice with your truck over on the WI side and then run the wheeler from there!! Unless you have a warrent out in WI there should be no other reason not to run that side

And how can we check whether or not we have a warrant over there?

SteveO,
Did you come down from the ledge yet after Sundays discount double choke? I gave it two whole days before I mentioned it (proper respects ya know…)
Turk
one down side for me is i built my frame for my shack from scratch..its 10 feet tire to tire..meaning i have to be careful where i pull it..no interstate bridges or downtown areas
They would peg you right away with MN plates! What you have to do is borrow you brother in laws man van from WI and pull that big trailer right behind it…… You would blend right in
Thinking of driving out from the wisconsin side with my car weighs 3000 curb weight ,lot lighter than my 1 ton got 12 inches outside shack 4-5 inches of clear good ice army core of engineers graphs say 8 inches of clear ice will hold 5000lbs they say to figure the crappy ice at half thickness and that puts it at 8+ even at that it should be safe for a car?

Yep they opened it today. Let’s remember to drive slow on thw ice 15+ mph is way to fast for the 12-14″ of ice we have.
