Nothing like some homemade soup on a cold snowy weekend. I made a vegetable beef soup yesterday and it turned out great! waytogo

    Crockpot Vegetable Beef Soup

    Ingredients
1 pound ground beef, browned and drained
    1/4 medium onion, diced
1 and a half potatoes, peeled and diced into 1 inch pieces
    8 oz frozen mixed vegetables
1.5 cans petite diced tomatoes (14.5 oz cans)
    2 cups beef broth
    1 tsp Italian Seasoning
    Salt and pepper to taste

    Instructions
    1. Place all the ingredients in a 6 quart crock pot.
    2. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
    3. Serve hot and enjoy!

that looks really good!!!!!! peace nuttin wrong with a good ole pot of homemade soup. never use the crockpot for some reason though??? doah

my soups usually start out with beef soup bones or turkey carcasses for the broth. ive also added extra store bought broth at times and always add boullion to it.

i can my own soup starter so thats what i add…..basically all the veggies already in it.

Sharon………have you entertained the idea of adding cabbage????

I love vegetable beef soup but I’d swap the ground beef for a roast. I like the shredded beef in the soup.

We ate gallons of the soup when I was a kid.

I haven’t but I think that would be fun to try! Would I add that in the beginning and let it cook down or add it more towards the end?

add it right away. i put it in my soup mix right away also!!!! that boils for a while till all the veggies are fairly tender, then it gets hot bath for a good 1/2hour……so it is cooked up. waytogo

One of my favorites is a cheesy hamburger potato soup. You can always add a little something for heat if you want.
    Mmmm. Now I want some.
