Critical habitat plate fee

Does anyone know where the $30 fee associated with MN critical habitat plates goes? I know it is supposed to be for protecting critical habitat and preserving natural resources, however in the last few months I have heard that may be only partially true.

So does anybody know the breakdown of where exactly the money goes? I would hope that all of it goes towards what you would expect when getting the plate. But I feel like sneaky politician’s would probably take from it to put somewhere else.

Just like the lottery money…

It goes into the general fund, where 1% goes to wildlife, 1% goes to roads, and the rest goes to welfare.

Seriously.. the lottery money goes elsewhere…. and the Habitat Plate money DOES NOT go in the General Fund… let’s not mis-inform here.
