I wanted to take some time snorkeling (in the shallows) while on vacation. Soooo I needed to order a snorkel, fins and a mask.
Google is my friend… placed a quick order and soon I’ll have my gear. All went like what I expected until I received the email confirmation.

I thought this was a hoot!!

    Dear Brian,

All was quiet today until the Snorkel-Mart warehouse intercom crackled to life: “Listen up, people! We’ve got a new order for Brian Klawitter, but no one could hear the rest of the announcement over the thunderous roar of applause. Champagne bottles were popped. Tears of joy were shed. “Don’t Stop Believing” rang from every speaker. Even John, our peak packer, smiled – and John never smiles. Simply put, your order caused pandemonium and everyone is thrilled you’re now a Snorkel-Mart customer. Thank you!

Once we clean up our celebration clutter, we’ll be working to get your order packaged, shipped and on its way to you ASAP. We’ll follow up with tracking information as soon as your package ships so you’ll know exactly when to expect delivery.

As a token of our appreciation, please enjoy 10% off your next order. To redeem your personalized coupon, just enter the special Coupon Code (see below) at checkout during your next online order at our secure web site http://www.snorkel-mart.com ….

What a breath of fresh air to the old hum drum “got your order and it’s coming” emails we normally get when ordering online.

Corny? Maybe, but I smiled. grin

You are easily amused, aren’t you?

And to think, it was only a year or so ago you were sexting minnows,,,,,,

    Enjoy the trip, HRG

BK, that made me smile as well. Maybe it is corny, but that is right up my alley (no pun intended doah ). Either way, it definitely made that usually boring email memorable so they are doing something right.

Nothing wrong with corny! Corny is good!

Further proof that it doesn’t always cost anything to provide good service and separate yourself from the competition.

PS. You need a Spam speedo to go with the snorkel, mask and fins! blush

    Brian,

Have fun snorkeling. I think I enjoy snorkeling in the ocean more than fishing it is amazing what you can see.

I was thinking that by day 6 I’m going to need a rest from wading around and SLOWLY floating around would be a good way to do this.

    Thanks Fishdale!

Funny…until they screw up your order.

Not to hijack your post, too late, but I’ve been looking at the full face snorkel mask systems like BreathEasy and Aria. Anyone use them, they look pretty cool.

And that made me smile and it was and would be very effective marketing. Seriously I need snorkeling equipment in the near future. Which company?

Your wife has mentioned that the flip side of this picture resembles a button on a fur coat. Who to trust, that’s the big question.
