Alright who has tried them ice fishing? Do fish just not eat them once ice forms? I can’t believe they only turn to a diet of waxworms in winter. Just thinking it would be easier to take them over minnows. I’m talking specifically for panfish, maybe on a small treble as a deadstick.
People i know tried to tell me that only walleye eat willowcats(WRONG). Sheephead find them delicious too! Also that walleyes wouldn’t eat sticklebacks which i quickly disproved.
I think I’m picking some up next time and see for myself especially early ice.

I’ve been thinking the same thing for rainbow trout under the ice . I see the Cooler at our local Walmart is still loaded With Canadian night crawlers. I’d think they would be deadly for them. I’m going to pick some up on see what happens when season opens .

I know a fair amount of people use redworms down here on the river for panfish.
