Mississippi backwaters near Wabasha. Nice fish too. Even the sunfish were nice with most in the 8″ to 9″ range.

Plastics on jigs under small floats, for casting Ron. Vertical, I use those small lipless cranks that I’ve shown here. This morning early it was a plastics bite, around 8:30 we switched to the lipless and got both crappies and sunfish very steadily, as in a fish every drop of the lure. I kept 7 of the larger crappies and three 10″+ sunfish.
Here are the plastics we use. Both are fished on 1/16 heads with keeper wires. The worm is much like a Keitech Swim Impact,2” on the smaller #6 hook The Shad is 2-1/4” and is fished on the jig with the #4 hook.
I make the floats and they can be rigged as a slip or fixed float easily.
And here”s the lipless bait, about 1/16 ounce. I paint the bare blanks. This color has been murder on fall crappies this year already and last fall as well.
