My family has a cabin on Fish Trap, I fish it a few weekends every summer, however, I have never ice fished it. We have always had better luck on the East side for crappies and walleye, but I will say we have caught some fish between that shallow finger and the south side of that island in your picture. There is a nice weed line that drops off into deeper water, I’ve pulled cranks there and usually find a couple walleyes and all the hammer handles you could want.
Hope you are not looking for any Northern to Keep on these lakes. With all fish from 24-36 needing to be released you chances are slim at best. As far as Decent Crappies go I’d say you best bet would be Fish Trap. There are some nice ones in there if you can locate them. Several main lake points and deep water spots will hold fish. Best to Drill Drill and drill more holes and keep moving till you locate fish.
Every time I fish fish trap for gills I find crappies. The nicer gills that I have found out there have been deep.

No we aren’t keeping. Are family has gone to shamineau for a long long long time now and we have only ice fished a couple times around augers and haven’t had the best of luck.
