Attached is the lake I fish alot. I can find crappies in the summer but have been having a hard time locating them on the ice. the water clarity is at about 14-16ft(clear lake). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Most ice guys myself included fish basin lakes, this is a very clear lake so it is a weedline lake. Look for healthy weeds either on the north side or with exposure to the sun which is in the south big time this time of year. Look for fish off of big shelves or points next to healthy weeds. Good news and bad news about these lakes. What first? People always want bad first; you will initially have to punch a bunch of holes and use a camera to find good spots. Fish do not always show up well on a graph or even livescope in the weeds, these lakes might have a big population of stunted something (‘gills, perch, both) so w/o a camera you spend tons of time marking what looks great only to find tiny stuff. Also bite windows can be short, first light +an hour, sunset to last light.
Good news: You have spots to yourself, fish are big, spots hold up year to year. Basin lakes get hit hard and become boom bust fisheries, so you may find the pluses outweight the negatives-good luck!

If it’s really clear, we would fish it at night with Tip Downs. We now add lights.

As deep as that lake is you may be working suspended Crappies, one lake I fish is sorta of setup the same way. Finding and keeping on them takes a lot of work as they are not relating to any structure. Using something like Mega 360 cuts down on the search and staying on them easier. Normally the fish suspending for me are usually the bigger Crappies.

Suspended crappies near the metro tend to be smaller, friend of mine caught a 15” over 50′ of water, we were sure when he was reeling it in that it was a tullie. Near the metro at last ice they can be over the deep stuff, OR be very shallow, they can be as puzzling as walleyes!
