Time for show and tell! I have to show it off to someone… the wife just gives eye rolls.

Not the longest of my life but by far the heaviest. 16″ if you extend the lips.

Very nice….. and my wife doesn’t appreciate them either. Happy that I am happy, but no real appreciation for the “art”

    Enjoy having it on display!

What’s the story behind the catch? The mount is very nice and a 16″ crappie is a heck of a fish. Knowing the back story would make it even better.

Nice fish and mount. I think crappie make a beautiful mount but have never caught one that big. If ever do have the spot on the wall picked out. Congrats bow

Well Boogs was in my boat for the catch, but I will let him tell the story. Great day on the water when that slab was caught.

Thanks everyone! Here is the back story. As you can see by this untouched photo that SHOCKERS (SHOCKERS-somewhat-reliable-guide-service) and I were fishing pool four. I know what you are thinking… that the mount doesn’t match the fish. It is the same fish. They look different as the boat shot was in full sun and the mount was with an iPhone filter.

1/2oz unpainted ball jigheads with red hooks. Tipped with fatheads. We found them in a tight bunch to a single horizontal log. We found it to be a log afterwards when SHOCKERS upgraded his electronics.

The odd part of the story is how we caught them. Right on bottom. When I mean bottom I mean I let my jig sit on bottom. Jigging just off bottom did not work. With no slack in the line we just waited for the line to go limp as they sucked it up. Sometimes when we would raise the rods you would feel weight. Crazy good times!
