Crappie location

    Fairly new to ice fishing.
I have a local impoundment/lake that has a deep channel that zigzags through it.
Should I look for crappies suspended over the channel or will they be over the flatter basin areas.
I am not sure how much current is in the channel.

If you’re going to look in the channel and you suspect some current, be very diligent about checking ice conditions as you go.

Fish the bends in the old river channel. You can use tip downs to cover more area.

Buy a Panoptics live scope and all your problems will be solved. With only a few hole’s drilled you will be able to locate every fish in the lake. At least that is what I’m being told. devil

Put it up to your wrapped birthday present and you can see what’s inside! Fun right?

If the flats have weeds or weedlines and they aren’t all dead I’d start there in low light and move to the deeper bends during daylight.

I pic of the map might help.
