My grandsons are coming to visit for a couple of weeks and I wanted to take them out nightime backwater crappie fishing.
I’ve heard the green lights work better is this so for mississippi backwater fishing or would I be better with white lights? Also, floating or sinking lights be better?

Where are you located? I believe that is illegal in MN.

Green is the way to go. Pun intended(lol)!! Mr. Crappie has some great bobbers for this. What’s really cool is you can use them as a slip or fixed bobber. If I remember right, they’re about $5 for two bobbers. I use these on the same type of waters up here on the Mississippi and it’s backwaters. Love m!

Don’t get hung up on green. It’s just a fad. Before I moved to MN, night time crappie fishing was my bread and butter. I used to absolutely murder then crappie. While I would maybe consider an LED option of some sort now, QBeam starfire II have been my go to lights.

I promise green won’t catch you anymore fish. I’ve fished them side by side and against other people, bright yellow (white) light always has won out, though some of the white LED options are tempting

IT would be awesome if the sign at the border just said Most things are illegal here.
