    Hi all,
I’m home on leave for a few weeks and after this weekend of deer hunting I’d like to go out and ice fish before I leave. I am wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of some lakes with good crappie populations that I can try to ice fish before I leave, seeing as I doubt milwaukee area will have good oce by then. Not looking for spots, just a nudge in the right direction as I have never fished either area, but i know vilas county is known for crappies.

Thanks for any info one might give. PM me if you feel. I’ll be willing to buy you a beer or give you a case for your help. I just dont want to waste a weekend home on a poor crappie lake.

Big Arbor Vitae has a good population. Ice should be good in the bay off HWY 70. Talk to the guys at Kurt’s Island Sports. They should have more suggestions.

I drove by Big Arbor Vitae yesterday, there was a group of guys fishing, maybe 12 of them, like was stated above, right off 70. I’ve never fished it. Good luck !
