I caught a few crappie last week in 3 ft of water. I went back the next day and moved out to about 5 ft to see if I could find a few out deeper that just had not moved up to spawn since the water temp was 78 degrees. Picked up a a couple more crappie than the day before, but caught about a dozen shellcrackers. The 3 largest in the picture were larger than average, 4 1/2 lb combined weight. I was using a jig i tied (brown head, chartruese/black specked chenille neck, brown/cream marabou) tipped with a wax worm worked under a float.

Hitting near 90 degrees here in Mississippi this week. Water temp in mid-high 70’s. The bluegill males are on the beds. My wife and I hit a bedding spot right before dark last night in about 3 ft of water.
