Sometimes I just have to laugh at people. If your gonna take the time to put a ad up to sell your boat and take pics you ought to know what brand your boat and motor is. This boat sure doesn’t look like a tracker and it’s not a Johnson motor either. But gave me a good laugh.

Interesting. It’s titled Skeeter then listed as a Tracker with a Yami IDed as a Johnson.
I’m leaning more towards stolen boat then not knowing the brands.
Although it might have been inherited or otherwise given to the poster and that would explain why this guy doesn’t know what he has.

May 7, 2015 at 8:56 am #1542027BK has some good points but I would lean towards fraud. Seen many to good to be true on CL that ends up there in a different state and some kind of hardship story.
May 7, 2015 at 9:11 am #1542031My personal favorite was the 6.6 HP outboard.
Which prompted a fantastic “to the guy” ad. You’re reading it upside down, you moron. It’s a 9.9 HP.

May 7, 2015 at 9:41 am #1542047Yup. If you want a good laugh cruise the CL adds for boats. Not many as great at this one but I like laughing at the prices some guys are asking for old junkers!
May 7, 2015 at 10:58 am #1542087You can get a good laugh by cruising any, and I mean any, craigslist ads.
I randomly sell something older/not used on craigslist, and growing up in a small town I never thought twice about giving somebody my house address. Once I moved to the cities, same thing, meet me at my house at 5:00 to pick it up. I have since started meeting everybody at a nearby Target parking lot, I don’t like the thought of giving out my address to a random person on craigslist anymore.shamusInactivePosts: 317May 7, 2015 at 11:31 am #1542103You can get a good laugh by cruising any, and I mean any, craigslist ads.

What’s interesting too me is how many pending sales I’ve had that all of a sudden have gone south or the person never responded back after I told them where I want to meet. Either they think I’m trying to scam them somehow or their intention was to find out where I live to steal from me.
Just have to be careful on that place. Last fall I accidentally left a couple rods at a boat landing. I put a CL post up describing the rod/reels to a “T” to see if someone found them. Sure enough I got them back about 3 days later. Another week passed and someone called me up claiming he had my stuff. I started questioning him about it and he quickly hung up. Lots of scammers and crooks on that site.
