Cracks in stern near outdrive 1978 Wellcraft 250 Nova

I’m looking to purchase a 1978 Wellcraft Nova 250 powered by a 310HP Chevy 350 and Mercruiser outdrive. This boat has been owned by the seller for 35 years and meticulously taken care of. The only concern I have are some hairline cracks above and to the sides of the outdrive. The entire stern/transom of the boat was replaced 5 years ago. There are no other signs of stress on the stern. Any thoughts?

Kevin, did you have a survey done? (a bit off topic)

I would have a glass guy look at it. Sometimes it’s just the gel coat (if your lucky)

Beyond that, it’s not going to get any better.

I am going to have a full inspection done before I finalize the purchase, but was just looking to see if anyone has seen this and how serious is it. The cracks look like they are just in the gellcoat.

That’s a lot of power and torque, I’d bet just stress cracks.
