Rob and I had a little bit of a shocking moment the other night while fishing.

On July 8th I was lucky enough to put this massive Flathead over the side of the boat railing. Taping in at 44×28 this guy was a true Flathead beast, it was returned to the water quickly after these photos:

5 days later on July 13th, in the same spot, almost identical cast, Rob confirmed what all of us avid fisherman preach so often. Catch, Photo, and Release works! The same fish, hungry for the same snack he was so graciously fed 5 days ago, attacks our bullhead and makes a jaw dropping experience for us as soon as it hits the net. “The same fish!” We all screamed as it was netted and brought over the side:

You can tell without a doubt by the spawn marks located right by it’s dorsal fin as well as on its lower portion of the back tail fin.

Man, what a great feeling catching this same massive fish, 5 days after releasing it healthy back into it’s domain. I can tell you one thing – CPR ROCKS!

Back in the water it goes for another happy angler to experience!

That’s cool. That means you need to name him because he’s now your pet flathead.

    We named him “Scar!”

There is also another one in the same spot we named “Grey Beard.” LOL

THAT is a great fish story… and ultimately why we do what we do.

Love the name Scar too! WTG.

Well this is getting down right silly now.

Scar is now the boat mascot as he showed himself again this last Wednesday.

3rd time catching scar in the last 3 weeks, unreal.

Wonder how long she’s going to wait around before moving on?

That is very cool. It looks like the scar is healing nicely in the last photo also.

We had this happen to us 2 years ago. Same deal. She had a big scar on the side. We caught her twice in a 10 day window. Sometimes we wondered how often we catch the same fish and as you said…. Show how well these fish do in with CPR. Good job guys!!!
