Counting down the days…..

I’m getting a bit concerned with Ruger (Chocolate lab). I can not get him to put any weight on. He’s almost 1-1/2 years old. Vet says he’s at the higher end of “Thin”. At 72#, eats like a herd of cattle, bacon grease on his food, and a few occasional goodies. But the more he eats the more energy he has and whines to go out to play every hour. I’ll wear him down, he naps for 10 minutes and its time to play again. Just a little concerned when it comes time for cold weather/water that he has a little body fat to him

I hear ya. Nothing worse than a dog that can’t stand the cold. I have a couple labs and I found that the dog food I use in the summer I cannot use in the fall/winter. I use nutra source chicken and rice blend. But in the fall and winter during hunting season I have to switch to nutra source high performance. Seems to be a little more fatty and more protien for them.
