Well they only let one member of the same household visit. So Mom has been with him. I wish I could be there.

So sorry to hear that. I don’t live in Minnesota but if you make the 3 hour trip to NE South Dakota I will definitely take you out. Just give me a heads up.

Hello from the far side. I’m still stuck in the hospital and it isn’t clear when they’ll be letting me out. This has been one of the “one step forward, two steps back” deals. It’ sort of depressing. My
wife brought my old iPad in so I coulee read e-mail and such. You guys made my day. Thank you all so much for the kind words!

    Hang in there Steve.

I went through the Kidney stone thing for a week during a vacation up north last summer……wasn’t a fun week, many trips to the ER only to have them do nothing. Finally went to a better hospital for surgery and had the Stent put in…..The “fun” part was taking it out at home…..with all the pain meds they gave me I still couldn’t do it myself, the wife had to assist. They said it is better/easier to do it at home then in the Dr. office…..not really sure it could get worse but if it can I don’t want to be awake for it next time.

If you still have the Stent in….sorry to scare you….but it is bad….good luck and have a great day.

Steve, I’ve never had a kidney stone but my bellie has a crappie sized zipper from a cancer bout just before I was married. er hum that has been more than a week er two ago. My best friend keeps his stones in a little jar as if they are trophies! I just don’t get it. Maybe you do now that you are experiencing them?

Any hoot young man, Just get through this! We need ya back to be able to tell, yer tales of the fish as big as whales up in thar northern streams!!

Hey guys – another update. In keeping with my Dad’s “one step forward, two steps back” comment he’s still in the hospital and doing okay for the most part. The doctors decided perhaps his body wasn’t liking the stent so they removed it on Monday. Since he only has one kidney they really want to make sure it’s in tip-top shape. Soooo… they’ve moved him to a different hospital with a specialty kidney department to take a look at things. Mom and I are really disappointed that he’s not home yet but thankful that they have a good team of doctors and my Mom is a great advocate for Dad’s healthcare and asking all the right questions so we can get this taken care of. Continued thoughts and prayers are much appreciated, and thank you for those who’ve sent private messages, texts, and FB messages. It really means a lot to both Dad and I that we’re lucky to belong to our IDO family. You guys are a great support system!
