I live near Hutchinson MN checked a few small lakes found many covered in ice with about 1-3 inches on them. Even with the highs if we stay relatively calm and 2-3 nights below 32 we just might have ice soon. I was able to get out a ways on one lake safely that is with spikes life jacket and spud bar and I did not go to far. Bring on the ice I’m going stir crazy 
Just got home from ice fishing. Up north. Checked many lakes on the way home. Most had 3 to 4 inches. Out 50 to 100 yards. I also am ready
A friend just sent me a message with some nice crappies on the ice in Chippewa County WI and 4″ of hard clear ice. This is similar in latitude to the Northern TC Metro.
This week should help a lot of the small bodies of water cap over for good from the Metro northward. The high temps of the day are lasting only a few hours and most of the wind predictions are moderate at most.

Pool 3 was skimmed this morning.
Time to scrape the scum off the hull

Not safe yet but did some searching while a little north of the cities on some of my favorite small lakes and found some beautiful ice. Just not enough to fish on yet. Couple inches by shore though.
