I remember a good one from Y2K. Only need to stock up on TP to barter with because many food hoarders haven’t thought this all the way through.

Shouldn’t have put your theory online – everyone is beating you to it! I have been a costco member for 6 years and never seen an empty shelf, much less no wipes, tp, chicken, etc.

Wow, this was just a 20 year old joke. It’s no joke! Last night I saw a cart piled high with nothing but water, wipe, and ramen. But, most these panic buyers had little to no food in the cart. I’m not naming the store that still has a huge pile of wipe!

Still don’t get the water hoarding, that was almost gone. This isn’t an earthquake, flood or the like that interrupts the flow out of your faucet.

Meat prices were down across the board. I also got some backup salt, pepper, and A-1 in case we have to eat the children..

My regular monthly sams club shipment of household essentials came yesterday. I got everything I normally get except no paper plates, no hand soap refill jugs and no TP. I called customer service (India call center) and was very politely told that they have no idea why those items were shorted. They could not reorder them for me, nor provide a refund or even say when I might see them. I was advised to wait 3-5 business days and call back if I still have not received them. Good thing I always order ahead so no panic here.

Some of us growing up in the 50’s and 60’s may remember “Fallout shelters” because of the panic that USSR was going to push the button and send their arsenal of nuclear bombs all over America.

Looking back it seems so preposterous. But now it’s maybe not too hard to imagine if this “contagion” keeps going that we’ll see the resurrection of the “bomb shelter” tongue

So, kidding aside. A person with symptoms with no insurance what are they supposed to do? Hope it’s the flue?

Please be very careful out there. The virus is getting very sneaky. This is clearly working in the Seattle area.

Go to a State where the ER can’t refuse you.

I bought 9 rolls of toilet paper today because I only had 1/2 roll left.

I see no reason to panic unless you are suffering from another disease or are very old. If it is like the flu virus it will be gone for a while once the temperature rises and people spend more time outside

We were at Sam’s in lacrosse today. Very noticeable how many totally empty spots in the upper pallet racks. The 6 pallets of toilet paper on the floor only a few packs of TP left on each pallet. Hand sanitizer was sold out but I did see some hand soap. We just got some more fridge & freezer stuff.

who needs TP?? find a corn farmer somewhere and ask to pick up all of the corncobs after combining the field, thats what we used until we had modern plumbing late in the sixties.
if you let them get rained on a couple of times and dry in the sun you wouldnt know the difference between them and paper other than you dont unroll a corncob lol.
and,,being organic they are good for the environment!!! fertilizer on a stick for mother nature if you will.

I cannot understand all of the hype fellas, one person dies in the land of fruits and nuts and they declare a state wide emergency???
we all have a better chance of dying from a fall off of a ladder for crying out loud.
speaking for myself, like dad use to say, death is like going to the bathroom, when ya gotta go ya gotta go.

when the spring rains return as well as warm weather,it will all go away until the next manufactured for TV crisis.

I have a few people I work with, they keep stores in China. It’s far from the epicentre, they say there’s no problem sending the order.

There’s a theory that this evil marketing works on problems in the world.

If your area is out of hand sanitizer, food prep surface wipes are probably still available. They kill 99.9% of bacteria and virus’s.

Rumors in financial circles say sales of Frito Lay products are skyrocketing.

Which totally makes sense. Got virus fears? Hoard potato chips and Doritos.
