Hope everybody got Fat Tuesday under their belts without any serious repercussions.
Met up with Gills and Specks last night in a small village that had formed over the deep brush by the main ramp on MacBride. The bite has slowed considerably, and it’s very possible that exposing myself in echange for bead necklaces might have been more productive.
The flashers showed fish absolutely stacked from 18 to 30 feet, but not many takers, and the ones that did bit so light that there was little or no indication they were on other than dead weight when I lifted the jig. Not a terrible night, I ended up with probably 8 or so keepers out of the bunch which should supply the family with crappie fillets some Fiday night in the upcoming weeks.
Ice probably won’t be around for long… Might be time to start thinking about uncovering the boat I guess.
