Went to the Res. last night with my son. Started fishing at 6, had 10 in the live well be 7:30, quit fishing at 8:30 with a total of 13 (oh yeah, all were released to grow up so I can catch them when they get bigger ). Sizes ranged from 3 to 8 pounds. Bait was cut shad (so fresh it was still bleeding). Style was slow troll/drift in 6-12 FOW.

Going back tomorrow night to try it again. Hope this front don’t mess it up too much. I’ll have more to report then or at least the pic’s from last night that I haven’t downloaded yet.

Water levels seem to be normal pool. They haven’t started drawing it down yet. Fish the spillway the other night…almost no measurable current.

    Looking forward to the pics.

It’s been a while since we’ve had a report from the old reservoir.

I wasn’t even aware that this existed. Looks like a pretty cool place. Definitely post some pics!

Oh wow…sorry everybody. It was Catfish. I am so used to posting in catfish forums I didn’t even think about that possibility.

I think if it would have been walleyes, you guys wouldn’t have heard about it until next January lol

    I’ll fix the title…if I can…and get my camera.

    As promised…some pics:

10 nice cats from Coralville Res. 3 to 7-8 pounds.

This is me with a typical 5 pounder

My son with about a 7 pounder (my scales batteries died so that’s just a guess)

Hope to have another report tomorrow with more pics. Hope this front don’t shut’em down.

Is that you Nate? Jeff said you were lurking around some website. I think he had fun that night. He also lost two cats when they broke the swivels…they were old swivels that had been on the line for a couple years, but still. Oh well, they’re new on the rods now.

    Round Two…

Went out again tonight with a friend. We caught 20 in 4 1/2 hours…same strategy. Here’s some pic’s:

13 of the biggest, didn’t take pic’s of the 7 smallest:

Here’s my friend with the two biggest…7-8 pounds:

Here I am with teo of about average size (of the biggest 13):

The front that rolled through didn’t seem to phase them at all. Pretty steady bite the whole time.
