Copper colored jigs

  • #1726365

    Hello everyone,

I have had tremendous success using gold jigs the last two seasons. My favorites are some line through center models that always come as a theee pack. One gold, one silver, one copper.

Has anyone had any luck using copper? If so under what conditions?

    Thanks a ton!

Not personally, but I suppose a copper color might be successful in a moderately clear lake.

Copper is a great color for lake trout. They can be super picky.

As far as most other fresh water fish, I personally would put a lot of emphasis on copper over gold. I will say I have tried copper on various lakes for walleye with not muck luck.

I have pretty good luck in stained water for Crappies and gills with copper jigs and I usually tip with Orange, Red, Purple or Motor oil colored plastics.
