Just tried a recipe i found online-cooking frozen steak. Starting with a 1″ steak broil 8″ from the heat for 6 minutes. Add salt flip cook for another 4 minutes, season again and let sit for 5 minutes. The outside is able to brown and carmalize w/o the inside getting overdone. If nothing else it could be a convenient way to cook a nice meal in a pinch. Same approach should work on the grill but I have not tried it yet.
