Looking to use my Ion Bit with a Milwaukee Drill. Has anyone done this or have ideas on what adapter I would need?
I like my Ion poly bit but would like to try it with a drill vs. the ION Head.

I would recommend the Deep Freeze Quick Connect. It’s a nice system and I’ve converted several ION bits to be used with a drill.

On a side note, you can currently get a 8″ ION composite bit on clearance from ION Website for $79 add the $45 Deep Freeze adapter and you have a sweet “Pistol Bit” for only $125!

If you watch this video at the 1:00 mark, you can see how to adapt the Deep Freeze Quick Connect to the ION bit. (this was a 10″ version but same thing with 8″). Pretty sweet auger deal for only $125! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF4MIKO05TQ&t=2s

That’s a Solid deal on that bit and chuck.

I think I would still want the stop plate incase the chuck released from the drill. Looks like eskimo makes a quick disconnect kit that you can get online for about $30. Search “Eskimo 42494 Quick Connect Kit, Drill-Adaptive Augers, Red”

Thanks all! I seen that deep freeze connect but wanted to hear from someone who used it.
YES on the plate. Thanks for the Eskimo tip, anyone else have any other stop plate or emergency connectors ideas?

He says you need the pistol bit adapter, do you have a link for one?
I ordered the 8″ ion auger deal and not sure how to connect it with just that chuck.

You might have to buy directly from ardisam as a replacement part if you want to utilize the pistol bit disc in fear of the auger coming undone. I myself run the clam plate with the gear reduction box and the ion ultra light bolts right up.

The only place I have found the stop plate is thru ardisam. You can get the chuck and plate thru them and is probably the cheapest option.

I have a 10″ Ion Auger with the deep freeze for my Milwaukee. You can use various items for a stopper (frisbee) or there are aftermarket companies.
