Converting bench seat to buckets

If this has already been talked about, I cannot find it so I apologize in advance.

I emailed Otter Outdoors and asked them about switching from the bench seat to the bucket seats in my Cabin Crossover. I do not have the Pro model sled. Otter told me that I cannot swap out the bench seat for bucket seats because the sleds are different and the parts are not interchangeable.

Has anyone done this using Otter parts? Or using other parts. Not looking to modify my sled or just put chairs in it.

    Thanks for your input.

    You can make anything happen.
If you look at how the old otter seats bases were made they were just welded aluminum.
I made one out of steel as I did not have an aluminum welder.

You can even make the base out of wood if you wanted to and add a swivel boat seat…

On my first otter I used a different brand of single seats, welded them together and also bolted them to the sled. It should be pretty easy to adapt different seats to work.

A buddy took the pad off the bench and mounted boat seats to to the existing frame work. Much more comfortable ones than the otter ones as well. He has the cabin model I belive and on one day trip to be a jackass and funny he even took the lund captians chair from his boat and had that thing in there. He was fishing alone in the shack and had it hooked to his snowmobile, but he was the most comfortable one that day!

I may have to try something like this.

May have to look at that option too. Didn’t really think about that option.

I just spent last weekend putting an otter seating system in my eskimo 2600. If I can do that you can absolutely swap from a bench to the crossbar. Page 2 of the parts catalog has the bar, brackets, seat bases, and mount you will need.

I took the bench out of my Cottage last year, it was just too damn heavy.

In place of it I used a Helinox camping chair in the sled, but have been contemplating mounting a compact boat seat to a milk crate, but still have a way to lift it off or flip up and use the crate for storage.

This is what I was looking for. Where there is a will, there is a way. Just have to find it. I believe the bench seat is extremely heavy and would like to replace it with aluminum and plastic to lighten things up. Somebody here has had to have done this before. The sled as is is very hard to pull without a Smitty sled. Thanks for the tips.
