Convert HELIX 7 DI / SI G2N unit into an ice fishing unit, anyone done that?

    Has anyone turned HELIX 7 CHIRP DI/SI GPS G2N #410340-1 into an ice fishing unit?
    By adding XI 9 20 Ice Ducers #710211-1? Like to have that unit work both in summer time and winter.
    Add the ice ducer unit and change some settings for ice conditions, easy as that or not worth it?
    Or better to stick with the HELIX 7 Ice unit?

    Yes that’s all you have to do. Essentially the ice unit is the same thing minus the SI/DI and comes with case and transducer.

    That is all you have to do. Also do some shopping around, I found a HUGE variance in pricing. From as low as $70 with free shipping and no tax, to as high as $160 with tax and shipping, just for the ice ducer.

    Keep in mind that there are two different ice ducers from HB. One is for the flasher models 35, 45, 55; and the other works for the graph models.

    XI 9 20 is the Helix model.

    I actually just ran my DI G2N for the first time this weekend. Worked great, love the maps. I mounted on a genz box, put a bigger 12ah battery on it cause the smaller batteries just dont last real long.
