So my wife and boys surprised me yesterday for my birthday… I turned 31, and opened a bag of 31 assorted VMC spoons. I really wish I had a picture of the look on my sons’ faces when I opened the bag – I don’t know who was more excited, them or me! My wife’s smile and comment of “You really don’t need any more encouragement to spend money on ice fishing stuff. Just make sure I get to use some of these this year, too!” made my night.
Anyhow, preparation mode is in full swing and hopefully central Wisconsin locks up soon. All four of us will be at the ice show Friday and Sunday, and the boys are already planning out their days. As we speak, both of them are huddled in front of the TV watching “LOW Crappie at 50 Below Zero” from season 8, talking about wanting to meet the IDO crew at the show.
