I’d go with the tall boy 2nd from the right, but that’s just me
Man, what a nice group of bucks
September 14, 2016 at 9:02 am #1639466I got a pic of their Grandpa in the process of downloading a few thousand pics from the last 6 weeks in the mountains. Also have about 6 hours of prairie dog kills
September 14, 2016 at 9:07 am #1639468Grandpa
We figure he is about 32 to 34″ spread. He stayed on the out skirt of the group of bucks and busted me as soon as I lifted my cameraAttachments:

Third pic down.
TimmyPosts: 1245September 14, 2016 at 9:22 am #1639480Personally, Id take the one on the far right first. He’s a 4×4.
The velvet make em look bigger, and they are all nice, but I would opt for more points.
(In reality, I would prolly panic and shoot one of the does).
September 14, 2016 at 9:25 am #1639481This little guy will be an absolute stud when his mass catches up in a couple years

September 14, 2016 at 12:38 pm #1639540Very nice. What camera equipment do you shoot?
Cannon EOS since the ’80’s. Favorite lens is a 35-105mm. When stalk, I like the 100mm lens for the challenge of getting close enough to fill a screen
September 14, 2016 at 1:43 pm #1639548Funny how a switch goes off in their heads come opening day of riffle season, vs carrying the Cannon. They get shy in a hurry.
September 14, 2016 at 2:19 pm #1639559Chuck, I’m very sure it also has something to do with the 600,000 + hunters that all enter the woods here in WI on the same morning Vs the limited tag and draw system CO has. That is another reason why WI sucks bull dung.

+1
Anything in velvet looks nice! I would have believed you if you said that 2×3 came from North Dakota. Ran into one that looks very very close to that deer!
Awesome pics Randy!

I’m the 2nd from the right guy too. yeah, its a 3×3, but the spread looks bigger and body wise looks like a bigger deer hence the reason I would take that one.
But, like you, I would probably pee down my leg and then shoot the “backpack” buck on the way back to the truck so it wouldn’t matter.September 14, 2016 at 5:40 pm #1639581Wow
Decisions, decisions.
Good to have options like those RandySeptember 14, 2016 at 7:21 pm #1639589Best part of all the nice mulies I shot pics of was that they were ALL on public land

We joked around about this in Wyoming in the past… how so many of the best animals knew to jump the fence into private property the hour before season opening. Then site there and laugh at us. Terrain in the photos brings back good memories. Nice photos for sure.
September 14, 2016 at 10:47 pm #1639624Sweet pics Randy! I’m not fussy. Any of those bucks look good to me.

That’s great work! 100mm is commonly used for macros and/or portraits.

That’s why I bow hunt, much nicer weather and a whole lot more days to get out and enjoy the fall beauty.
September 15, 2016 at 10:28 am #1639695Whew…I thought this was going to be a political post.
