My old Silva Ranger compass needs to be replaced. I cannot find the Ranger model anymore so I am looking for advice on which Silva compass to buy. I don’t want the cheapies because I spend a lot of time in the woods and want something that is dependable. Appreciate your opinions on the various models.

I can tell you those Brunton glow in the dark liquid fills are with me whenever I hunt and have served me well for general direction. They may not be as good as you are looking for but could be a great backup. Good luck!

    I have the 9041 http://www.brunton.com/collections/navigation-recreation

Looks like they have about every level you could imagine.
