My driveway is a 400’ downhill inverted bobsled track. I pulled in and my headlights reflected off the track. FW was creeping down in front of me just getting to the end of her, as she put it, Tilt-a-Whirl ride. I figured if she can do it in her escape, I can creep down in 4 low.
I did a really good job of making a perfect crown rejuvenating my driveway last fall with one side a little more sloped to the ditch on one side. Turns out even at 1/4 mph, given a low enough friction coefficient, gravity will take over. Gravity always wins. Into the shallow ditch on one side it goes and there she lays.
We’ll let it rain all night and hopefully that’ll erode a bit more of the ice and maybe expose a few patches of gravel. I’ll throw some salt down (what I have left) and pray I can get my plow guy to come out and sand in the morning. Just maybe I can get to work and salvage my day.
