Crazy accident today on the WI/MN border in Taylor’s Falls.

A semi with a flatbed smoked his brakes coming down the mountain and by the grace of God avoided catastrophe.

He narrowly missed a stopped car, another tractor, and the gas pumps at Casey’s.

There’s a video on Facebook, but I haven’t seen much about it anywhere else.

    Absolutely crazy.

Stuff happens. With some of these guys getting their license out of a Cracker Jack box we will see more of it. Some can’t read a map, back up a truck or know what a BOL is, but they can drive a 80,000 lb truck.

While there are some very good drivers out there the pool has been pretty watered down.

    Hopefully nobody was hurt.

I’ve seen some pretty nasty accidents due to that hill but that’s normally winter time. Wonder if something with his air brakes went out or if he was just not paying attention or understanding his load on grade like that.

All of a sudden I’ve been seeing these certain people new to America driving semis around and I’m not being negative but I know if they can’t drive a mini van, they can’t drive a semi. It’s honestly terrifying seeing the way some of these semi drivers drive. More companies need cameras on their drivers. I see way too many with phones in their hands.

I was in a truck stop last week and a driver was holding up the line and unable to pump fuel because he could not fluently communicate in English to the cashier. I thought that quite ridiculous and should be illegal.

When I travel to Canada I always speak Canuck. I never travel to Mexico because I can’t speak Spanish.

Is it just me. Looks like he rolled it to stop the truck. Wow.

My boy is currently taking classes to drive truck.

I don’t know. I think you ought to be able to pass a basic English course in order to operate a commercial vehicle. Prove you can read and write that is kind of important for that occupation.

This guy obviously had air break issues. Which could have been a sudden fail.

I don’t think he rolled it to intentionally stop the truck, I’m sure he would have rather hit the incline on the MN side and coasted to a stop. I’m guessing that veering around the car and the other semi caused the crash?

But who knows, maybe he was going too fast to make the bend anyway? Just past the light is a big rock wall shock

What are these companies to do? Lot are paying great for these jobs, then again none want these jobs. There is a shortage for this type of work. The trades are hurting for work. You got answer to that rather than blame it on the work force that fills the potition.
