I just purchased a new casting reel with a 7 – 1 ratio. I’m pairing it up with a 7 foot MH rod suited to fish lures up to one ounce. What line recommendations would you guys make for this type of fishing?

10# Sufix 832 in neon lime.
Tie on a 4′ section of 20# fluoro carbon leader and your good to go.

Just read through this posting and noticed that you are using a bait casting rod. Initially I thought you were using a spinning rod. 10# braid will be a little bit on the lite side for a baitcasting rod & reel. You may want to step that line weight for the suffix braid up to 20# instead of 10#.
Especially when using heavier 1oz lipless cranks.
