This isn’t the Columbia River but since there is no forum for Northwest Lakes, here we go:
The Rod Meseberg Walleye Tournament was held over the weekend at Potholes Reservoir near Moses Lake, WA. 139 teams were ready for blast-off Saturday morning. A slight front moved through during the first few hours of fishing on Friday but quite a few teams were still able to bring some good baskets to the scale. Sunday, the wind finally picked up a little and the bite seemed to improve for many and the rest enjoyed the sudden freedom from the bugs.
The team of Rick Sutherland and Tom Morrow won the event with a 2-day total of 40.80 lbs. Stan and Jarrad Romig followed with 35.82lbs and Stan’s brother Steve and his daughter Lindsey took 3rd with 34.40 lbs. Steve and Lindsey also found Sunday’s big fish of 8.60 lbs. Bill Smigay and Tim Smigay brought a 9.96 lb walleye to the scale on Saturday for that day’s big fish.
The next tournament in the Circuit will be held at Banks Lake May 22 & 23rd.
