Well fellas, I am heading out to Washington state for a wedding mid to late June. While out there I plan to do a little fishing on the Columbia river. I have done a few searches on the internet for walleye guides but it seams as though most guides specialize in salmon and walleye second. Does anyone know a good walleye guide that they would recommend? I am not looking to catch a ton of fish I am looking for the 10+ lbers the Columbia river is known for. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tim

Going to the Columbia to fish walleyes, that’d be like going to the Mississippi to fish cats and expecting to find a guide ;)

Can’t help you, but I’ve researched a free sturgeon guides out there.

They do have some mundo eyes though!

There are a few in Portland OR area that target the Walleye.
In June fishing picks up in the lower Columbia near Portland. It gets better as summer goes along.

Where you thinking of fishing lower river or Tri cities? I can send you names but your area is helpful

Both WA and OR have now declared the walleye an invasive species and removed limits/seasons in Columbia. It’s really too bad. This could be a good fishery if the states managed them.

    Invasive species? Seriously?

I’m open to going anywhere with in reason but will be staying in wanachee, WA.

My only goal is to get into the 10+ lbers that the Columbia is known for.
