It appears that 4 teams from the State of Hockey will be making the NCAAs and a 5th is possible if the Beavers can upset Mankato on Saturday. St Cloud is not playing this weekend but they will earn an at-large bid on Sunday.

    Starting Friday:
Duluth vs Denver in St Paul
Western Michigan vs North Dakota in St Paul

    Saturday
    Bemidji vs Mankato in Mankato
    Michigan vs Minnesota in Minneapolis
Friday winner vs Friday winner in St Paul

    Sunday
    NCAA Tournament announced

ESPN and ESPN2 have the Frozen 4, so I’d assume the Ocho will have the prior games.

Haha. The Ocho is for Dodgeball!

CBS Sports has both NCHC semi-finals today and the final on Sat.
Big Ten Network has the final on Sat.
Can’t find a TV listing for the CCHA final.

The NCAA regional games are ESPNU and ESPN2.

Post season hockey is fun. We were in St Cloud last weekend watching my nieces BF play his last game at the Brooks. Wish they could have won it but still fun. Might have made a difference if David was in net but who knows?

Looks like Duluth prevailed so they will be playing Western Michigan for the conference title tonight at the X.

Four teams from MN going for a conference title tonight in Minneapolis, St Paul, and Mankato.

Wild scene in Mankato last night. The Mavericks appeared to beat the Beavers in OT. The celebration ensues, they present the trophy, and everyone leaves. Apparently new video footage is then showed to CCHA Commissioner Don Lucia that the post was up when the puck went in and it slid under the net. So he calls the refs and teams back onto the ice and makes a statement. They restart after a 5 minute warmup with most of the fans gone. Almost 90 minutes after the game previously ended, Mankato scores again 2:17 later.

With all the camera angles and reviews in this modern age of calls, how can this even happen? Not a good look for Donny or the CCHA.

Imagine if the Beavers would have scored and won that game after the Mavs were given the trophy and celebrated in front of their fans.
    Crazy ending.

4-3 MSU. Definitely didn’t take them to the woodshed the second half of the game.

Is there goalie on fire? Not sure if the NCHC tourney was their last games, but shutout in the semi and in the final. Now again??? If so, that’s trouble for anyone going against them!

Yep, he is playing lights out.
His entire team is not afraid to block shots either.
They swarm to the front of the net in the D zone to clear pucks.

That was weird at the end of regulation. The overhead timer was clearly too late and the game clock on the scoreboard wasn’t synced up with the green light behind the net.

Kind of a moot point now that the Irish won in OT but come on. Get your facilities on point. It’s the NCAA tournament for Christ sake.

Apparently they had to start the back up goalie and he was a sieve. The regular starter is recovering from pneumonia. Unfortunate timing because other than the goaltending, they were clearly the better team.
