Coleman Xtreme soft-sided cooler?

I’ve read many threads where the high-end coolers (Yeti, etc) are tested for how long they keep ice. They last about a week, but then the Coleman Xtreme costs 1/5 as much and keeps ice like 6 days. Long enough for me…

But… I’m in the market for a soft-sided cooler. Don’t want to spend Yeti money but would like something that keeps ice at least 2 days. Does the Coleman Xtreme come in a soft-sided model? If it does, I haven’t been able to find it. If not, is there another value brand that makes a really good softy..?

Nearest I’ve found is Rtic, but it’s still $100 or more depending on size. Anything reasonably good under $50-100? I’m thinking the 20 can size.

I’m not a big fan of walmart- but the ozark trail brand soft side they have is around $50 and has been impressive so far and has held up well to near daily use this summer. They send a little stick of wax for the zipper, makes it work much easier.

I love these cooler threads for some reason.

Look up AO Coolers. I have 2 of the soft sided versions and I really like them. I believe I have the 12 and 36 pack. If you precool the ice lasts along time. Order off amazon and get free shipping.

I looked at the Ozark, but they have a very narrow bottom which means they would be easy to tip over when full. Not good in a boat or in the back of my SUV, would be great to find all your clothes and gear soaked because a cooler tipped over. Look at this before you buy.

I hate putzing with coolers and hunting for fresh ice all the time when on trips. I just want fill it and forget it coolers that will go days with no attention.

I got the RTIC SoftPak 40 about 3 months ago and it is terrific. Fill it up with cold drinks and ice and it still has ice left after a 3-day weekend trip. It basically lived in my SUV this summer and the seal on this thing is terrific. Love the fact that the cooler itself weighs only a couple of pounds, much easier to lift and load than the heavier hard-side coolers of the same size. Worth the money IMO, this cooler is going to last me a long time.

I have the igloo marine ultra 24 can soft cooler. It’s $30 at Target or Mills Fleet. I had a sealed zipper cooler and hated it. This one holds a 4lb Arctic ice flat in the bottom and usually makes it through a day in the boat. I’ve had mine for 3 years and it’s still holding together.

I really like the Rtic as well but wish it were a bit less dough (I know you get what you pay for most times). Wondering if they ever go on sale or have advertised coupons. (Probably just in the pink ones ;)) It’s gettimg near end of season I would think/hope/maybe..?

I was given an Ozark soft sided cooler for Christmas last year. I brought it with me camping the other weekend. I packed it with a frozen liter milk bottle. Left Friday morning and came back Sunday morning and the bottle was half melted. I pre-chilled the cooler before putting items in it and left it in the shade as much as possible. I would say for frozen solid ice it should retain for up to 2 days no more.

Woke up this morning and obviously from surfing the web yesterday, FB was running a 25% off coupon code for Rtic Coolers. Used it and ordered one for delivery this Friday.

I guess that’s one good thing about FB running those algorithms;)

I just got my AO. Really nice construction. The 12 pack cooler is smaller than I pictured and tall. I need to get the next size up or 36 as well.
